Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryers

ANF-1.png

An Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryer (ANFD) is a robust, fully enclosed batch reactor designed to seamlessly integrate solid–liquid separation, washing, and drying within a single vessel—ideal for sensitive, hazardous, or high-purity materials typically found in pharmaceutical, fine chemical, dye, and agrochemical production . The equipment consists of a jacketed or glass-lined pressure vessel, a perforated base plate covered with filter media, and a bi‑directional heated agitator equipped with S‑type blades, which can move both axially and rotationally to smooth the filter cake, enhance washing, and assist in drying and discharge

The agitator also doubles as a thermal element, circulating heating or cooling media through its blades and further reducing moisture content to below 0.1% .

Operation begins with charging slurry into the sealed vessel. Filtration proceeds under vacuum or pressure, with the agitator maintaining uniform cake density and preventing channels

Following wash or reslurry steps, targeted drying is achieved through conductive and convective heat transfer aided by the agitator’s motion . Finally, the agitator directs the dried cake toward a side‑mounted discharge valve—often hydraulically actuated—for contained removal
