Fluid Bed Dryer

A Fluid Bed Dryer (FBD) is a highly efficient equipment used in industries to dry powders, granules, or crystals by passing hot air through them. As the air flows upward, it causes the solid particles to behave like a fluid — hence the name “fluid bed.” This method ensures uniform drying and fast moisture removal.

  1. Material is loaded into the dryer chamber.

  2. Hot air is blown through a perforated base plate.

  3. The particles are suspended and mixed by the airflow, creating a fluidized state.

  4. The moisture evaporates quickly, resulting in dry, free-flowing material.
